My opinion on Scara ships

Now, let's get to a controversial topic. I thought that while this website is generally about "objective" info, well, it's also my site, so why not have some of my personal opinions here.

Also, the fact that my opinions on this are not actually all that controversial at all. It's also quite short!

My general opinion on Scara ships is: I don't ship him with anyone. I am not much of a shipper, and shipping is very rare for me (I only have one OTP in the world). As for Genshin ships, the only one I would say I'm even interested in is Alhaitham x Kaveh. But although I don't ship Scara with anyone, guess what. I also don't really mind Scara ships. This has happened to me with many series, I like a character and then I end up reading fanfic about them with almost any ship. Same with Scara, I've read all kinds of ships with Scara even though I don't personally ship any of them. Here are some of my opinions on the most common of them. I hope you wouldn't feel hurt or offended, because like I said, I don't actually mind Scara ships, I'm not a hater of any of them or anything like that.

First of all, Kazuscara, since it's the most popular. I absolutely love the origins of this ship (it actually started as a crack ship before anyone knew they had a connection). It has a lot of potential, and that's why I've enjoyed reading many fics about it, even though most are AUs and therefore quite separated from Genshin. However, I couldn't jump in on the ship though because... I think it probably shouldn't happen. Kazuha is the last of his line. The last of Niwa's bloodline. It would be kind of depressing if it ended here. Maybe a platonic solution would be better, so Scara could help teach the family tradition to coming generations for the parts which were already forgotten by Kazuha's time...

Oh, I should probably also mention: My headcanon is that Scara is just a puppet, he has a doll body, not certain... abilities... or organs... I just fail to see why Ei would've programmed him with things such as sexuality, attraction, desire of any of that sort... Kinda probably ruins it for a lot of people at that point, sorry.

Next hmm, Chiscara right? It's a very fun idea, but to be fair, now that we've seen that in canon, Scara really doesn't like or respect him... it's more difficult. I really need some canon basis before I can ship a ship. I know there are many people who can just throw canon out of the window, but I'm not one of them.

Scaralumi/Scaraether I skip, because I don't like shipping the Traveller with anyone.

Next, Niwakuni. Well, it's very cute and I've definitely enjoyed some fics with that. However, I guess it didn't happen since Niwa had other descendants so I'm assuming he also had a wife. See how I'm kinda attached to canon like this? That being said, I thought of something else recently. When Scara got wiped from Irminsul, the story of the Raiden Gokaden's downfall turned so it was a bitter son of a swordsmith who taught the hatred to his descendants who eventually took revenge against the Raiden Gokaden. When in reality, it was Scara. It made me think if Scara was almost like a son to Niwa... He should become the last, only left member of the Niwa family then *cries*.

Scaramona, I also skip this one because I just need more for me to able to connect characters.

Dottoscara, hahaha. Well, I could never ever ship this romantically for reasons I'm sure you can understand. But I know some people ship it as some kind of kink, BDSM thing. I am personally not interested in such material, but I can understand if someone likes the ship based on that. Like basically having something really fucked up on purpose.

And last for now, Scarahida! Ah man, where to even start. So yes, they're both about the same age, and in fact Nahida is even older than him. But with their current appearances, this ship is a total no for me because of Nahida's young appearance. I know though that some people ship it in the future, in a time where Nahida's appearance has become older like Rukkhadevata's. I guess in that case I can give it a pass if someone ships it, although I still wouldn't myself because I see Nahida more as a replacement mother-like figure for him.
